Coconut Oil is known to contain anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Making it the ideal oil for pulling! The word pulling is defined as "to exert a force on someone or something" and it is this force (created by the coconut oil) that you enact on your teeth and gums when you pull.
Decay, plaque buildup, and bad breath are all caused by bacteria clusters and overgrowth in the mouth. Plaque attracts fatty compound which then causes stains. When you swish with this powerful oil around in your mouth, plaque is then broken down and removed, which decreases the amount of bacteria in your mouth and diminishes the fatty compounds that collect on your teeth. This is in thanks to a particular fatty acid found in coconut oil- lauric acid. Bacteria, fungi, and viruses are no match for lauric acid, as it has been widely used for viral infections. Studies have shown that swishing and pulling with oil- significantly reduces plaque buildup and decay in the mouth, making it one of the most effective resources for breaking down plaque and cleaning the teeth.

Peppermint & Spearmint
Peppermint & Spearmint make their most significant contribution to oral health by their antibacterial and antimicrobial activities. They attack the bacteria that causes bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease- making them effective for combating these oral pathogens. Peppermint & Spearmint also have soothing properties that can help with gum inflammation and irritation. Their cooling effects create a gentle and calming sensation which results in a more comfortable oral health experience when swishing.
Clove
Cloves are powerful anti-inflammatory and analgesic agents. This is in thanks to their main compound called eugenol. Making them the best ally for reducing pain, fighting germs, and creating a balanced oral biome. Our mouths contain over 700 types of different bacteria- some good, and some bad. Rather than killing all the bacteria (which is what most mainstream mouthwashes & antibiotics do) bacteria should be managed to encourage the growth of good bacteria. Good bacteria helps to produce hydrogen peroxide which helps keep bad bacteria under control. Most strains of bad bacteria wind up creating a resistance to antibiotics, but studies have shown that bad bacteria does not develop a resistance to cloves. Because of this, cloves are also effective at removing the bad bacteria that can move from your mouth into your arteries which can cause health issues later on. Cloves also stimulate circulation which enhance gum tissue health, and help to remineralize teeth due to its eugenol compounds that help protect from damage against acids.
